Hi there! Iā€™m Sophia.

I am a trauma informed licensed psychologist. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental space that allows you to feel heard, supported, and cared for. We will develop a relationship which will allow you to become aware of your patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating to others, while cultivating compassion and understanding for yourself. We will work together to achieve self-acceptance, wellbeing, and lasting positive change.

My Background:

  • Bachelor of Arts - Marymount Manhattan College

  • Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology - Nova Southeastern University

  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist - PY# 11191

I have extensive experience with individuals from diverse, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as practice ranging from psychotherapy, group psychotherapy and education, psychological assessment, court-ordered forensic evaluations, behavior modification, and clinical supervision of student trainees.

Who I Am:

I am a Venezuelan-American woman currently living in Miami, Fl. Before my career as a Psychologist, I was a classically trained ballet dancer and remain a big fan of the arts. I love to travel and spend time outdoors hiking, fishing, swimming, gardening and enjoying the quiet and beauty of nature. As a former dancer, exercise and movement are an integral part of my own wellbeing and practicing yoga allows me to stay connected to my body.
